A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Pirate With High Heels

I'll start this post with a funny for you. My little friend Audra was here yesterday morning ...bright and early. She had already had breakfast... I was making ours. I stopped frying bacon and sat down to talk to her. I said, "What are you going to be for Halloween?" She said that her mom and told her that she had been a princess long enough. Think of something else to be, Audra. I asked what she decided. She said, "I'm going to be a pirate." I said, "That's cool." She said, "A dancing pirate with high heels." :)

Our homily at Mass last night was about marriage. In the Catholic church marriage is a covenant not a contract. Marriage is taken seriously. Then Father Nnaso went on to tell the old story about man and woman. The rib story. How Adam needed a partner and how a woman was made. You've all heard it before. Catholics believe that marriage comes as a gift from the hand of God. The Catholic vision of marriage is rooted in Sacred Scripture and is expressed in the teachings and practices of the Church. It has these main elements:
(1) Marriage unites a couple in faithful and mutual love;

(2) Marriage opens a couple to giving life;

(3) Marriage is a way to respond to God's call to holiness;

(4) Marriage calls the couple to be a sign of Christ's love in the world.

I'm appreciative that I married Joe. Had I not been married to him, I would not have known about the seizure during the night. I could have had one while driving or shopping or gardening. He's been a trooper... there for me in every way. He'll be taking me for my MRI tomorrow. Hopefully things are going well. It will determine if I can be weaned off dilantin. I am going with a positive attitude. Maybe by Halloween I will be able to put on my pirate's costume with the high heels and do a little dance with my little friend Audra.

John has been taking good care of me ~ cooking every day and washing dishes. What a good husband I have too.

I hope the MRI shows all is good!! I have my postop tomorrow. Hugs

All I can say is this has become a womans' world with their (superior minds). Remember, God also punished us all for Eve,(A Woman), leading Adam to sin and then blaming it on a serpent. That fact was also in Fr. Nnaso's homily yesterday.
Sorry ladies but I'm a man and just couldn't let that inference go unanswered!

I just attended my niece's wedding yesterday and it was such a wonderful celebration of this couple's love. The priest stressed that it was a joint commitment to each other through the Lord and that they should hold each other dear. After the mass, we went into a pine forest where they held a re-commitment ceremony using a Celtic wedding prayer. Lovely...
Glad you find your "one" to walk with through your life. Now, stay away from snakes...

You find that snake, Balisha. Joe needs that lesson about snakes.

Best wishes with your appointment Balisha. I hope all is well. And I wanna see pictures of you in your dancing pirate costume! ;)

I think we have a long way to go before this becomes a women's world. If it was, we'd have a lot less war and a lot less starving children. Still, I love your sense of humor Joe, and I have to say, you're a brave man putting that comment out there!

I'll bet both of your senses of humor have helped a lot, especially in the rough patches you two have gone through recently. Seems to me you and Balisha are lucky to have each other.

Hi Balisha, I love your list on how to slow down below. We all need to slow down once in a while. Your little friend will make a great pirate in high heels. Don't you just love the imagination of a child. You are very lucky to have Joe. He sounds like one in a million and I am sure you are, too. I survived the farm this weekend without getting attacked by any spiders but did see a few around the barn that caused me to jump back a few times! Have a good week. I am thinking of you today and your appointment and hope and pray everything turns out wonderful for you. Love, Judy

Thanks to everyone who commented here. I love all of you.

Garden Girl...My thoughts exactly...I have always said, "What if we had a woman leader in our country?" She would get us out of these wars and use the money to take care of kids.
