A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Asters in My Garden by Balisha

It's 43 degrees outside this morning. We had the down comforter on last night and it felt good. Joe and I have an ongoing thing about when the comforter should go on. He would be happy with it in August and I want to wait till later. Ah, viva la difference....I am so French since wearing a beret! I stepped outside to take a few pictures and now blogger won't let me post them. Well, time for a poem.

Asters in My Garden

I had a little aster plant given once to me..
It wasn't very big you know and very hard to see.
I put it in my garden and waited through the year..
For it to blossom purple and bring me lots of cheer.
I waited through the summer.. gently taking care..
I saw it's every leaf that formed and every bud so fair.
Just when September came and it was soon to pop..
I saw the plant so huge that it made me holler stop!
It had grown to such proportions this little plant of mine..
The plant had grown so much that I wrote this little rhyme.
It took the whole darn corner of my little garden fair..
The people walking by began to really stare.
It's out there now a stunner in my garden small..
It towers over everything it is so very tall.
The bees and I will love it this little corner treasure..
My garden is so pretty now it's beauty without measure.
I'll go a snap a picture and try to post it here..
If blogger will just let me and bring me lots of cheer.

Balisha
Hey...I came back and tried again...it worked and now you have a picture to look at while you read my poem. Balisha

The flowers in your photo for this post are beautiful. I love looking at flowers, but know so little about them that I can't tell the weeds from the flowers in the garden until they bloom. I believe I might be trainable though. I am already dreaming of having a flower garden next year. Your sweet poem makes me want to be sure to include some asters.

I'm still running the window fan at night and I'm hot. John says he's freezing. :-)

Your whole garden is lovely, Balisha! Asters are of such vivid colours, and I love that they wait until the end of the garden season like a long-awaited gift to carry us through to Autumn. Beautiful.

Since my husband started taking blood pressure medicines he is cold most of the time. I have been melting for a few years now.. ugh!
Nancy B. expressed my thoughts regarding the vivid colors and time of flowering. Your flower bed is so cheerful!
