A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Saturday Things

We just watched the whole funeral. Very emotional for us. Everyone has found out what I always have known...Ted Kennedy was a caring man.He changed the country from a senate seat in the cause of civil rights. He was given so much and cared for his fellow man like no one else. His friends, colleagues, and family were so full of stories...it seems he was larger than life. One of my favorite things was his wife, sitting next to one of his sons....hearing complimentary remarks and the step son nodding his head in agreement. It seems she is loved like a Mom. I hope that a health care plan can be put into action and that it is named after him.

I got a phone call from an old friend, who lives in Vermont. We caught up on our news. She had surgery for cancer a few months ago and is doing well. She heard about my surgery and was sending me hugs and prayers over the phone.

John Kennedy is the first President I ever cared about or paid much attention. His running for office got my attention, and I have never lost my admiration of the Kennedy family since. Losing Jack Kennedy was one of the most emotional thing I can remember going though for someone who I had never met, but had grown to love what he represented. Then Bobby, and I began to really grow up and see the world in a different way.

And now Teddy is gone. Everything you say about him is true...and more. What I feel about this health care plan is more than I can even put into words...

I turn and face to President Obama..and thank God he is at the helm at this time in history. I think he needed Teddy, but I think he will be fine no matter what.

I get so frustrated at times... why, Balisha, is it so difficult for some to understand what they represent? I read anger on some of the blogs..AT Obama...???

I probably should not be writing about this sort of thing on an open post...so feel free to delete it and not show it. I'm sorry..I did't think it through..
Hugs, and love,
Mona

I know....right this minute they just finished the service in Arlington Cemetery. It's just about dark there....I really had a lot to do today to get ready for the start of school, but was glued to the tv all day. Cried when they stopped in front of the Capitol and Vicky got out of the car. So sad.
Am still thinking good thoughts your way. You will be well.

Hi again, I have been watching since yesterday. The Kennedys have always both fascinated and amazed me. I wonder what JFK would have thought about a black president speaking at his brother's funeral.
He probably would not have believed it if he could have looked into the future when he was in office. I think they are all such interesting and admirable people. I hope the health care plan is named after him, too. I enjoyed all the speeches during the entire two days.

You gals are so wonderful to comment like you do. This has been a sad day with the funeral. We watched until the end. He must have been a wonderful family member. They cherished him so.

We have been watching as much of the coverage of the memorial and funeral last night and today as we can. Most of the speakers have been very good. The stories of Senator Kennedy's life have been filled with so much humor, joy, and love that we have been misty eyed at times. I think these past few days have been a good reminder to all of us that life isn't about what you have, but rather about what you give to others. That is a message our country desperately needs to hear right now. Continued blessings to both of you.
