A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

One Lonely Pumpkin

September is waiting nearby in the wings..

Listen so close you'll hear locusts sing.

The leaves in all the nice green trees..

Are changing their colors with every breeze.

Some birdies have left their sweet summer nests..

They'll leave so soon, for they know best.

Our summer was short.. now put to bed..

We needed more sun for tomatoes red.

We ate our melon and corn so sweet..

Our cukes grew plump with vines so neat.

Green beans, peppers, and carrots grew..

Our gourds filled vines.. to name a few.

But something was wrong in the garden I say..

One lonely pumpkin I found today.

We watered and fed and took care of them..

Thinking we'd need to share with a friend.

But alas and alack we haven't a ton..

So my pal little Audra was the lucky one.

She took home her prize this afternoon..

I told her next year will be here so soon.

We'll try it again..growing pumpkins that is..

I'll read up on pumpkins and then be a whiz.

Next year will be here in the wink of an eye..

Our pumpkins will grow and then multiply.

We'll need baskets and wagons to haul them away..

Next year we will have more bright sunny days.

THE WILL OF GOD

The will of God will never take you,
Where the grace of God cannot keep you.
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

That is a darling poem about the little pumpkin. I'm sorry there was only one, but I bet Audra will enjoy her pumpkin immensely. Blessings to you.

Hi Balisha, I know your little friend was thrilled with your only pumpkin. The poem is beautiful. Now, that I have sun,I plan to have some garden stuff next year. I put out some cherry tomato vines and they are hanging full of tomatoes but they are not getting ripe. It has been really cool here today. I have baked a cake and made potato soup in the crockpot. I always feel the need for comfort food when the weather gets cool. If it stays cool, I will probably make chili next.
I hope you had a good weekend. I think of you so many times during the day and each time say a little prayer for you. Keep thinking positive thoughts. This will all be over before you know it. Love and hugs, Judy

Hi Balisha, I was just thinking how sunflowers make me smile. Pumpkins are another thing that always brings a smile. There is something jolly about a fat little pumpkin;)
