A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Jenny Wren

The Wren by Balisha

Sitting on my garden bench...it was the month of June..

Some birdies on a limb were singing a familiar tune.

Trilling and melodious the song a joy to hear..

It was so very beautiful to my ever listening ear.

The little bird is called by some the happy name of Jenny..

In my woods and yard so big I think that there are many.

Jenny flits about looking for her food..

She has a busy job to feed her hungry brood.

She hops and skips and jumps a bit...and then takes off and flies..

To the pond next door that's full of things ...a greenish worm she spies.

The worm it seems is bigger than the tiny little bird..

She struggles with it in her mouth ...I dare not say a word.

She makes a perfect landing with worm in tiny beak..

I hear the bitty babies in the house... peep peep.

She bobs her little tail and flies on through the door..

I hear the joyous babies asking for some more.

This job continues on for our tiny Jenny Wren..

She cares for her little family like a brooding hen.

When the little ones are ready they'll leave their cozy nest...

I hope they'll remember Jenny... her loving care was best.

Next year I'll be here sitting... on my bench in June..

Just waiting to hear Jenny and that old familiar tune.

What a nice poem. I love the little wrens.
I hope I have them netted out of my blueberries though.
My husband was complaining about a little field sparrow who has been tweet tweet tweeting all over the place for some reason. Noisy little things sometimes..but I like them
