A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

The Church Mouse

As you can see from this dark photo...the sun had just come up and the flowers weren't awake yet. I was wide awake and wanted an early start. What a nice way to start the day.
I've mentioned before that we have a group of women in our Church, who do things to make it a beautiful place. I call us the Church Mice. One of our projects is our Mary's Garden. We all sign up for time to spend in the garden during the summer...planting, watering, weeding, deadheading...just like at home. We have a master gardener, Kathy, who gets the project going each summer. She is so talented at knowing just what to plant where. She starts the ball rolling and we sign up for our time and with all of us doing our job....it is a beautiful spot.
I woke early this morning and decided to start my week of gardening there. The sun had just come up and it was "COOL." I got the key for the faucet and went down the hill to turn it on. The hoses are heavy and have to be dragged up an incline. This is the worst of the job....especially on very hot days. I started watering the front. I noticed that someone had put a little heart sticker on Mary. It was pink....I could imagine some little child putting it there. Every once in a while, Mary will have a single rose, or a bouquet, sometimes we will find money there...a dollar bill or some coins. Many times on the benches we will find a beverage that someone has left there. We've never had any vandalism there. People walk by and are so friendly...always speaking. Kids ride by on their bikes and smile and wave. It didn't take long to water and the gal who took care of her last week, left everything tip top. I am signed up for four weeks this summer. It's really a job of love.

Works of love like this have a synergy about them with everyone being inspired by the other.

Hi Balisha,

You must be the only mouse that does the cleaning and upkeeping... :D

God bless you on your 4-week work of love... :D

We have a great committee. Everyone does their share and it works.
