A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Easter Celebrations and Fun

The branches were picked in the woods and mixed with the pussy willow bouquet that Joe bought me after Mass.
This is a late addition....I went into the dining room and snapped a picture of my inside egg tree. I put the picture of the little outside one here and decided that I would add this one later on.

This is what my Easter bunny cookies looked like. We had a big platter of them with eggs, and chocolate foil wrapped chicks. Cookies, two cakes, and a ton of candy....a sugar high later in the day. This is the tiny Easter egg tree in the front yard. I had a big one on the dining room table, but didn't get a picture of it.

Some of the family at our house. Now if you kids are reading this and your picture doesn't look the way you want it too....you were all so silly it was hard to snap many decent looking pictures. Some family members aren't in these pictures...next time.

My daughter, having fun and laughing at her brother the birthday boy.

Grand daughter who is taking her cake decorating class and brought a sample for us to share.

At my older son's house on Easter Sunday. Anthony and my son having fun with Cocoa, the pitbull. Cocoa doesn't beg at the table, but she sat under it with her head in my lap the whole time. She knows who to hit on for treats. I would look down and she would just look up at me with those big brown eyes...who could resist?

Here's that cake up close this time.

Easter is over and the memories linger on. We started our Easter on Saturday. My daughter came down from Wisconsin and my son and his family came from Huntley, Il. My daughter got here first and we had a "walkabout" in my yard. We looked at all the things coming up this Spring. I love having this bond with my girl...we have many outdoor interests...creatures included. She has had wood ducks visiting her lake home this weekend. I'm glad my joy in outdoor things rubbed off on her. The others arrived a bit later. My grand daughter surprised me...I didn't know she was back from California. Lots of hugs. The grand daughter who's in college came with her boyfriend. She is taking a class in cake decorating and brought her first creation. So pretty. The grand sons were here telling all of their news from school and fun they are having. We surprised my son (their Dad) with a birthday cake. His birthday is later in the month, and we won't all be together then. Joe and I had a great time with them all. So many laughs when my kids get together. They love teasing and telling jokes on each other.

Easter Sunday...we started out by going to Mass. It was really a beautiful Mass. The music is pretty ordinary during the year, so when holidays come it is a treat to have special music. People don't seem to get as dressed up as we did when I was younger. It was quite a mix of clothing...from jeans to Easter pastel dresses. The homilie was meaningful and told the story of Christ's rising. After Church we hurried home and picked up the things that we needed to take to my other son's house. We were greeted by Cocoa the pit bull...she had her yellow bunny ears on and pink painted toenails. They had a huge Easter basket filled with all kinds of candy. Boxes of different colored Peeps, which were shared with Grandma...my favorite Easter candy from my younger days. The house smelled of ham and all the trimmings. We had a nice time visiting with all of them before and after dinner. Driving home...we were tired and full. Couldn't wait to get into our comfortable clothes, turn on the concert we saved on TV, spread out the Sunday papers, and, last but not least, eat that chocolate egg that Joe bought me.

Balisha, thank you for sharing.
Yes, there was too much sugar at this home also. I just put 16 sections of a fudge cake in the freezer and still have some in frig along with a lemon ice box pie. Family times are wonderful.

Happy day after Easter, Balisha. What a beautiful family you have.
Balisha..I think Howard is trying to get into heaven. He attended two church services and I attended one. I had things to do...so he went to the church he used to go before he met me..and then attended mine with me. I tell you..that man has a step up! LOL
Your flowers look lovely. I really am behind..we are installing a plant shelf under the front window...not all that sure it is big enough..but it will have to do for now.
Wasn't it a nice day?? I LOVE holidays...I really do..but my, they are a lot of work! How did I do it with so many at home!! All those Easter baskets and the Sunday clothing...goodness!!
~Smiles and love to you my friend!~

Happy Resurrection day!

What a wonderful family. I'm glad you could get together.

And I know exactly why the pup prefers you. They always seem to know.

Sounds like you had a great Easter with your family. I love the cake and the egg trees and the cookies look good, too. I have a great big sweet tooth and would have loved me some of all those sweets!
