A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

We just spent a nice afternoon with neighbors. We don't get together often , but when we do we have a good time. I fixed a cheese and cracker tray and had a couple bottles of wine chilled. We heard them at the door and when we opened it...we had a surprise. They brought a nice tray of cookies. Maybe eight different kinds. Peanut butter, chocolate chip, pizzelles, an original one, a ginger type, something formed in a cookie press, and a few others. I'm not near the kitchen..or I would check. We sat at the table eating our goodies and talking about politics, the stock market, birds, computers, HD TV you name it. As we were eating and talking I asked about the cookies. She referred the question to her husband. He made all the cookies. She was at club meetings this week and he was home making cookies. Now what do you think of that? We learned that he entered his cookies in the county fair years ago. As he was making them...his new wife and his mother saw him sifting flour. They said, " You don't have to sift flour." He did anyway and he took first prize at the county fair. My husband said,"That's the way I like chocolate chip cookies." They said....sift the flour. He even brought a cookie that was his original recipe. It is a drop cookie with mini marshmallows in it. I haven't had one yet. Maybe he missed his calling...he should have been a baker. We went to the door to see them off and told them to have a good trip. They are leaving for Hawaii soon. We closed the door and decided that we wouldn't have supper tonight. Maybe a snack before bed...a bowl of cereal??

What a nice get together. I miss those get togethers. In the old days, we used to do those things a lot. Now everyone is either too busy or working.

Hi Margie,
That's what I meant when I said... we don't get together often enough. It's wonderful to have a relationship with your neighbors so that you know their names, have some fellowship with them and know that if you need help they are there for you and you for them.
