A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Thanksgiving Poem

A Thanksgiving Poem, by Balisha

The sky today was bright and clear.

I thought since Thanksgiving was so near,

That today a shopping I would go..

To make our cupboards overflow.

Over the river and through Byron's woods,

My little red Mazda..looking for goods.

The store was busy..the lot was full..

One spot left for me to fill.

I went in with hopes that I could see,

Everything on my list...waiting for me.

Turkey and dressing and pumpkin pie,

Cranberries, relish and my oh my.

I filled my cart with so much glee,

I could not wait for my husband to see.

Went up to the counter to pay for it all..

There were people waiting...having a ball.

So much laughter, so much fun.

We chatted and talked until we were done.

I went out to the lot and filled the car..

Opening a treat...a snickers bar.

Driving home with all this food,

Put me into a wonderful mood.

How lucky am I to have lots to eat..

And some cash leftover for a yummy treat.

My plea for all on this Thanksgiving Day...

Is to take some time and well earned cash..

To the Salvation Army..go with a dash.

Fill the kettles so we all can say..

I helped someone else on Thanksgiving Day.

Balisha, I love your poem! I see that we have something in common:) I also went shopping for Thanksgiving groceries today and thought what a pleasant day it was--sunny skies, the store wasn't busy, clerks said "hello" to me, and plenty of check out lines. I didn't flinch when I saw the total bill--how lucky are we who can splurge on one dinner like this!

Your message at the end is a good one--I hope everyone who can digs a little deeper this holiday season. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
