A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

It's Coming Wednesday

Sunday is usually spent drinking coffee, reading the papers, and watching TV at our house. When we go to Mass on Saturday night, like we did this week...we have the day to ourselves and it is peaceful and relaxing .....but not this Sunday

Here is what happened at our house on Sunday. No relaxation, no coffee even...too much to do.
I'm sure it is the same in lots of households, but thought I would share anyway.

We had a busy weekend. My better half is an electronics nut. He loves gadgets and remotes and computers etc. He has looked and looked at new TVs. Every time we are shopping he sees these huge entertainment centers and wide screen TVs and says that we should get one. We looked at them recently and then he went shopping alone. He came home and picked me up to show me the one that he liked. He has good taste and the entertainment center was a beauty....though huge. He gave me the spiel on how nice it would be to have it for the holidays. We are home most of the time and the TV is a big part of our entertainment. I heard....Look at the colors!...It's almost like we are there!...Look, you can see insects crawling on those plants!....Beautiful wood on that piece of furniture! Just think how the Christmas specials will look!

It's coming on Wednesday.

Yesterday was spent making room for this huge piece of furniture. He had to empty the old center. That involved listening to the old Perry Como tape that he found....watching the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons special that we had saved.....listening to the old Benny Goodman music that he found. His "work" was different than mine. I left him to emptying the cabinet while I did the "Christmas clean" in the dining room. I completely cleaned that room, from the chandelier to the carpet. Moved things to make way for my skinny tree that goes in the corner. The room sparkled, when I was finished. I had many interruptions...come see this.....you've got to see this.....this is so neat.....do you remember this? I guess husbands and wives have different ways of doing things. I was physically drained when I was done. We both got the things done that we wanted to get done. It is finished and we are ready for Wednesday.

I have to admit, when I clean a drawer. book case or a box of photos....I do the same thing. It takes me forever to get through it. There are lots of memories in our homes and fun to go back and revisit.

LOL Balisha, the same thing happened when we moved. I found photos and some small items I had forgotten, and DH was insisting that there was absolutely nothing we could get rid of. I waited till he went to work and visited the trash room :)

Big TV huh? What a wonderful way to spend a snowy day!

Hi Balisha,

I agree that sorting old things opens a cornucopia of old memories... :)

By the way, on coffee (I am a bit of a drinker myself but I don't exceed the limit of a cup a day), the best one I've tried is the "white" coffee from Malaysia... I went there last April. I haven't tried it for months though, since it is not available here in the Philippines... :(

Hello Mark,
I have never heard of white coffee.I do have some white tea.I have to drink decaf...because of health problem. Mark, what are your seasons like?

Hi Racquel and Ohiomom,
I will post a picture of it...if I can get it all in one picture. LOL Today we are arranging the bedroom...living room TV will be in there. I have put some things in the trash "when no one is looking" and sometimes it doesn't work out too well...husbands have a way of needing that tossed thing....when you least expect it.

Hi Balisha,
On "white" coffee, they call it white because it looks like it's been overly creamed (but it's not). This is quite strong, so I am taking back my recommendation to try... :)

Regarding our seasons, the Philippine climate is classified as hot, humid and tropical. Way back when I was in elementary, our meteorologists divided our seasons in two: hot (summer) and rainy seasons. Now, they expanded it into three: hot (March to May), rainy (June to November) and cold (December to February) seasons. My friends who have experienced your seasons there say that our summer here is less hot compared to your summers. The rainy season is the time for typhoons. Just this week, a typhoon passed by our islands. The cold season is due to the drift of cold air (or the northeast monsoon) from frozen Siberia and Mongolia... :) And so, our Christmas here is also cold, but not as cold as your winters... :)
