A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

One of the first trees in Oregon to change color.
I am working on clearing the debris and dead flowers at the edge of the woods. This is the first place that I start the fall cleanup, because it is quite a distance back and not many even see it....so if I cut down a flower or two...it doesn't matter. I have wildflower seeds from http://americanmeadows.com/ I have had good luck with this company. I've even sent gifts from there and they arrived in perfect shape. I used their shady seed a couple of years ago and got a lot of really nice wildflowers. This year I planted some annuals along the edge for more color, but I hope to seed this area and then I won't have to buy any annuals. I want to plant some grasses next year, but not sure what to plant. Some are so invasive. I want a well behaved grass that doesn't get hard to manage. My neighbor is fighting the cattails that the former neighbor put around the pond also a big grassy clumps near the fence. What a job she has. They are tough! I don't want a grass that takes over like those plants have.
The weather here is beautiful today. Yesterday as well. I didn't feel good during the night, so today I will have to take it easy. You know, when you get up in years...you try to do everything that you used to do, but it doesn't always go the way you want it to. You see all the things that you want to do and things that need doing, but time has taken it's toll and you have to settle for what you can do. Now that I've said that...will I pay attention to my body?

Wonderful autumn colors in your trees Balisha. Ours haven't started their fall transformation quite yet.

The trees in my header are not from this year. We are waiting for them patiently. The one in my post is from this year. It is from the State Park down the road. Our ash, in the backyard is almost all yellow.
