A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Gardens

This was a day with not much to do.The sun was shining I hadn't a clue.
A bright idea popped into my head...I'll call my friend and get her from bed.
She answered the phone and said with a groan,"I can't leave the house till my housework is done.
I really can't join you...though I know we'd have fun."
I thought to myself without even a blink,I'll go by myself...now what do you think?
I'm here on a bench writing this poem,The garden is wonderful...and so close to home.
There's no one here to utter a word,No human voices to even be heard.
The sound of the wind, the sound of a brook.I'm enjoying the day sitting here with my book.

I decided to go to the Arboretum this morning. I had a wonderful time...the weather cooperated and I took so many pictures. I will probably show some on different posts...too many for one. Come along with me.

The colors were so pretty here in the half circle garden.
I loved the look of the dried grasses in the center of the drying flowers.
Look at these morning glories! They are in the children's garden. Didn't everyone's Grandma have morning glories?

A little bridge over the Koi pond.
A walk through the arched walkway and you are in a pavillion with benches looking out at the fountain. A nice place to rest.

This is my first destination....I sat on a bench and had some water...listening to the water splashing in the fountain. I just pulled my salvia up. These were still pretty....lots of hummingbirds were visiting. In the background you can see the drying sunflowers and a bird house.
Here is the fountain garden. As you walk by...you get a little splash to cool you off. It did get pretty warm today...I sat on that bench too.

Another walk over a bridge. Everything is still so lush. Fall will be here soon and I'll make a visit back for the colors.

Those are great photos. I haven't been their in ages. I'm surprised the hummers are still around.

Hi Marnie,
I still have them here at the house. They are really active...just filled the feeders again this week.
