Never Enough Time

W... Woods. We need to work in the woods. I have not watered all year.

E... Early this morning we decided to venture out to our woods to work.

D ... Digging had to be done. We were doing some transplanting too.

N... New sprinkler was pulled to the back. It is a big reel and works great.

E... Elbow grease was needed. Needed my strong husband to help today.

S... Soil was just right for transplanting...not rock hard. The wild rose will be happy.

D... Droopy ...she was a bit droopy after the ordeal. She will perk up later today.

A... Ah.... that's better. What a wonderful spot for her. She can stretch out.

Y... Yawn, I think we need a nap!

Information on the rose that we transplanted. 'Complicata' is a very hardy gallica rose with strong, arching, open growth producing clusters of cupped, to flat, single pink flowers with paler centers and folded petals with grayish green leaves. In general, roses are a large group of flowering shrubs, most with showy flowers that are single-petalled to fully double petalled. Leaves are typically medium to dark green, glossy, and ovate, with finely toothed edges. Vary in size from 1/2 inch to 6 inches, five petals to more than 30, and in nearly every color. Often the flowers are very fragrant. Most varieties grow on long canes that sometimes climb. Unfortunately, this favorite plant is quite susceptible to a variety of diseases and pests, many of which can be controlled with good cultural practices.

We planted this between 3 pine trees way back in our yard. Didn't realize how big it would get and really didn't know that the branches arched so much. It was hard to mow around and someone kept wanting me to cut the canes shorter...so the best solution was to move it. When we lost the overhead branches in the woods...it gave more sunlight, so the idea came to me to put it on the border of the woods.
