A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Sore knee

My knee is sore. I was on the kneeler at Church and went to stand up and my knee felt like a bone was in the wrong place ..in my kneecap. It is much better today, but I am wondering if I am going to be able to do all that I want to do in the garden... in the coming weeks. I will have to get up and down a lot...probably not good for a gimpy knee. I have two rolling stools to help me with my weeding and planting. I have had the small one for a long time. When the Grandkids were over we would take turns and roll down the driveway on it. The kids did it first and then Grandma. At that time, I didn't really need it. Now I use it all the time. It doesn't roll very easily across the woods, so I bought the biggy. It has the tractor seat and was the envy of the neighborhood. The only problem I have is...it's too high, and it goes in the direction in which it is pointed. It is very hard for me to manage. My little neighbor has decided to call it her own...since I don't like it. It's her tractor now. Next year I may put a potted plant on it and kind of hide it in the woods.
I was reading an article this morning about how to save your knees in the garden. The gal who wrote the article, says that she takes long barbeque tongs with her. She can pick things up and pull things out of the greenery. It really works for her. I may add those to my bucket of tools. I always travel with a bucket full of tools. It is a long walk back to the woods and we have no shed back there. I have my tools, water bottle, bird book, sometimes the camera, and some other stuff. I look like I am out for a trek in the woods. If I am mowing I wear a headband. I guess you could call me a character. The critters are used to me...

You gotta be careful with your knees Balisha. Gardening is hard on the joints, that's for sure. Sometimes I forget I'm not 20 years old anymore and I pay for it the next day. I like your rolling tractor.

My Bob has problems with his knees also. The doctor told him when one starts hurting to load up on Ibuprofen for a couple days which he does. This seems to take it away until the next time it flares up. He also told him steps were bad and don't push a lawnmower when it is hurting. I am lucky I don't have that problem yet.

Thanks for your concern, Judy. My knee is much better this morning.I am one who can't take ibuprophen. So I just use ice and heat and take tylenol.Thankfully...it worked.

Ewa, Thanks for visiting. I went back to your blog and reread what you said about your shrines. We don't have these in our country...just roadside "shrines" set up where people have had auto accidents. Most of our Catholic churches have "gone modern" and have removed the old statues inside, even. We have a new priest who is bringing them back a bit. We have a retreat in our town. We can drive through and see the peaceful scenery and enjoy the Mary's Garden and wild birds and animals from the car.If you're feeling stressed, it's a wonderful place to go.Please visit me again.

The BBQ tongs just might do the job for all but the stubborn weeds, pretty good idea.

Hope you are feeling better, I enjoy reading about your woods, birds and adventures in the garden :)
