Never Enough Time

These are pictures of our St. Mary's Garden. A group of us take care of it during the different seasons of the year. We get help from whole families....they sign up and the kids help out too. It's the first thing that you see when entering our Church. The first picture is from last year and the wave petunias were so pretty. The other one is how it looks right now. A master gardener did the planting this year. It's fun to help out with this project and to do the flowers etc. for the sanctuary. Wonderful way to meet people with the same interests. We learn so much from each other.

We have a group of kids visiting our Church this week. They are doing a program called "Totus Tuus. It means "Totally Yours." They divide our youth into two groups. The little kids meet everyday for Mass, 2 hrs. of learning about our faith, and then lots of fun. Games, songs, snacks etc. The teens meet separately for an older program. The leaders are college age kids. Last night there was a potluck for all these kids. We went with friends, and were there with just a handful of Seniors. Most were kids and their parents. The food was great and the evening was fantastic. Such a high energy program was presented. We loved it....I wish more "older" people had gone. I think doing things like this keep us...not young in body...but in mind. We can better relate to people of another generation. If they could have seen the faces of these little kids singing their hearts out...they would have really enjoyed it. It's nice to just sit and listen to the younger generation talk...get their views, sometimes they can teach us a thing or two. I know that I learn all the time from my Grandkids. I don't see them all the time, but when I do we really have quality time and I listen.
