I wrote a post this morning early, but deleted it. It was just too dreary. I don't think that people want to read about my complaints...we gardeners pick ourselves up and start digging. So, with that in mind...I set myself up for a day filled with very hard chores. I disturbed the birds, in the woods, with the weed whacker. It looks better now and I enjoyed a bit of time....just sitting there in the sun. The wind was blowing quite hard, so, paying attention to Joe...I came back up to the house. (He doesn't think that I should be under the trees on windy days, due to my recent brain surgery.) Limbs come down all the time...so I paid attention. I watered the plants that I planted yesterday. They looked so good this morning...all standing at attention, when I appeared. I stopped at the grocery store and bought two beautiful tomato plants. I fixed a nice meal...steak, baked potato, green beans, and a salad. We have two snickers bars for a treat tonight. My order came from White Flower Farm this afternoon. I was disappointed, but I'll not go on about this....too dreary. Instead I just plopped the plants in a sink full of lukewarm water and emailed WFF to tell them about my disappointment. You know, it must be hard to know when to send tomato plants in the mail. The weather between Connecticut and Illinois is so unpredictable. They pack these plants perfectly, but what does this trip do to a tomato plant? All cooped up in a cardboard box, bounced around inside a truck, put on a front porch....poor plants, no wonder they are limp. I ordered them, because WFF has tomatoes that you would never find in Byron. I wanted to try a couple of unusual ones. The plants have perked up a bit and are now on the front porch for the night. The rain has started just now and it is welcome. The Grotto was planted with grass seed and my new plants will be so happy. There now, that's better. I'm in a better mood and I didn't trouble you with my grumbling.
Have a great night.

That is too bad about your tomato plants Balisha. Usually WFF has nice plants.
As for the other, it all gets to us and comes to us that we just cannot do what we would like to anymore. We have to start setting priorities and do what we can. There is a younger generation that has to step into the spots we cannot fill any longer. You should not feel guilty about it either lady.;-)
The tomato plants have perked up this morning. They really aren't as nice as the ones I bought here in town.I won't order them again. I've had good luck with other things from WFF.
My husband has said the same thing...about the younger generation.I have to learn my limitations. It's hard to give up what I used to do.
