This from Newborns in Need. http://www.newbornsinneed.org/ When a child is born to a needy family, and it comes time to leave the hospital, many times that tiny baby may be wearing just a disposable diaper.
Sometimes-too many times-there's not even a receiving blanket waiting for them at home-if they even have a home to go to. In winter, that means there is a good chance the baby will be back in the hospital with pneumonia, or worse, die from the cold. Who will help? In many cases, if we don't help, no one will. These children can't help themselves. God has told us we are to help each other, and we are doing just that. This is an ongoing need. Your donations of time, sewing notions, and money to help alleviate the suffering of tiny helpless babies is greatly needed and appreciated. |

A few years ago I started knitting these tiny hats. I didn't know where there was a close chapter, so I contacted the website and sent them on to an address they gave me. I made quite a few in pastels...pink, blue, yellow, white. When I visited their website I noticed that people made hats in all colors. I'm making them again...this time using a more colorful yarn. I got the pattern from their website. The sizes go from the tiniest preemie to a regular child size. My family gets a kick out of these little hats. The kids can't imagine a baby that small. If you want to be a part of this charity...go to their website to see how you can help.

Today we are experiencing a winter storm warning. Snow should begin any time now. I'll be in for the day and I thought what a perfect day to knit. I can't knit very long because my eyes get tired, so I go at a slower pace. Knitting, and tidying, and cooking will be my projects today. I'm sitting here in front of the window to the street...watching the cars hurrying by on their way to work, school, or shopping. When they come back tonight the going will be a little slower. I like the way the world behaves when snow comes. It's like God sees us scurrying around and decides to slow things down for a while.
Balisha....keep warm.. I'm out to feed the birds now.
