A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

My Favorite Blues

I'm joining with Claudia and her followers on A Favorite Thing today.Claudia has a blog called Mockingbird Cottage. http://mockingbirdhillcottage.com/  She came up with the idea to post a picture of our favorite things on each Sat. If you would like to join in...please pay her a visit. Hers is a blog where she posts almost everyday. We followed her through a most sad time recently, when she lost her beloved dog. Her blog is so special...I've really begun to "know her" through her writing. Today, you will find links to many other readers treasures  to click on and read about.
The above picture is one of my favorite things. When my dear mother-in-law passed away, we were going through her things and trying to decide what to do with them. She had this collection and others above her cabinets in her kitchen. Blue was her favorite color and she decorated each room with that color. She was a tiny red head who loved garage sales, old cemeteries, granite ware, crafts of all kinds and her family. I was lucky enough to be able to shop with her at many garage sales. She could spot blue in an instant and would make a bee line to the item. We would go to old cemeteries to find nuts, acorns, and pine cones for her beautiful fall wreaths. She and I got along like mother and daughter. She was such a great influence on my kids...we all have our special memories of her. I remember her everyday when I look above my kitchen cabinets and see her blue collection.
