My friend Audra came over...I said, "I haven't seen you for awhile." She said,"I've been waiting for your hair to grow. Take off your scarf and let me see." I took it off. She said, "Put it back on, you still look like a boy." Little kids just say the first thing that comes into their mind. Now notice the clothes that I have on. I have a shirt, sweater, sweatshirt and my old gardening jacket.
Now look at Audra. She just has a little shirt on and glitter jeans that were new. They sparkled in the sun. This picture doesn't show the sparkles. This little girl sparkles too...she makes me smile.
I could see this red from the house. Two splashes of red in the woods. A little maple tree by St. Fiacre. He is the patron Saint of gardeners. I have heard his story and wonder why he can't lend a hand :)
Here is the other splash. I planted a Korean Spice Viburnum in the yard. I have moved it 4 times. This is the final place for it on the edge of the woods. So this shows me that I need more color in the fall. Next year, I will plant more red and yellow fall colored plants along the border.
Joe will be delighted to hear this...not!

After the job was done, I filled the feeders and sat on the bench to watch the birds come. My red bellied woodpecker was flying around all afternoon talking to me. I guess I should have said there were 3 splashes of red in the woods. Finally I was done and he could come to feed.
