A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend started with flowers. My Cyclamen was blooming her little heart out...trying to cheer me up.

I was telling Joe all about the candy I used to love, when I was a girl...He stopped, after Mass, to buy me a bag of sweet treats...Those Peeps were so delicious...you can see that a few are missing. Good medicine someone told me :)

He bought a pretty Easter lily... to add to the flowers. I love the scent in the house...and an extra bonus...I can plant it outside and enjoy it year after year.
It was my birthday on Easter. In a phone call from  Grandson Collin...he said, "Grandma, how does it feel to have your birthday on the day that Jesus was resurrected?" I hadn't thought of that...I said, " Very special day indeed." I talked to all the kids and we made plans to celebrate on their Dad's coming birthday.
As I told before..two of the gifts from Joe were these books of my blog. I'll have them forever to look at again and again.
Over the weekend, I did some painting. I'm on a kick of doing these mixed media floral paintings. I usually paint in my room in the basement, but things were brought up to the dining room table...where it is warmer. This is so relaxing for me. I just stop here and add a thing or two as the day goes on.
And last but not least...a little visitor came to our door. Little Great Grandson, Luke, came over. He spotted Grandpa's tootsie pops and of course Grandpa shared. He entertained us and showed off his good manners. When Joe unwrapped a pop for himself...he put the wrapper on the table. Luke told him two times to put it in the garbage. His mom and dad have taught him well. He found this little stool, just his size, and sat there for a picture.
I had many phone calls, cards and blog comments to wish me well. All in all...it was a different Easter-birthday, but pretty nice.
