A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Hats

Here's my daughter in her fox hat...ready to throw some snow at her home in Wi.

Here are the two gals in their Stormy  Kromer hats. I saw that she wanted one at Christmas time...I had to google Stormy Kromer to find out what it was. This was race day in Wisconsin.

Well, you know me...when I found out that this is what she was talking about, I went to Pic Monkey and put a Stormy on her head.

Then, I thought....why not put hats on all our family? I think we look cool.
Last but not least....here she is leaving our house in her sock monkey hat. I can't let this go without a little poem for her.

Hats

My daughter never wanted... to wear a hat to school...
She didn't want her girl friends... to think she wasn't cool.
"My hair will get messed up.. is what I really dread"..
She tossed her hair and left the house with nothing on her head.
The years went by... with my pleading just ignored
She went without a hat...even when it poured.
Now that she is older ..I smile to see her wearing..
Hats to cover tresses... but hers are far from boring.
A Stormy Kromer she will sport, when doing something fun..
The red plaid on her head just glows in morning sun.
Going out to throw some snow she really looks so good..
She sports a fox hat on her head.. to cheer the neighborhood.
The sock monkey is the hat that I look forward to..
She's in the car and set to go..good byes I always dread..
She puckers up and blows a kiss.. her hat upon her head
This girl of mine has grown so strong .. I think I found  the key..
Just let her be..she'll learn... without more advice from me..
She now wears hats upon her head and has such fun in doing..
I hope she never stops this fun...it really keeps me going.

Love you, Mom

Too cute! You are crafty putting those hats on everyone! And just so you know….as for your daughter not wanting to wear the hats….yep, I've got a 10 year old that just won't do it unless the girls next door have theirs on!

Cute. Love the hats and the poem.

I did the same thing. No hats 6th grade through high school. Didn't want to mess up my hair! Now, I always have a hat of some kind for cold or the sun. Funny.

I love that poem--it is so true!! I didn't know you could add stuff like that in Pic Monkey--I need to learn how to do that.

Oh...how nice to see your fun family pictures! Each hat is just so darn cute. I saw a Sock Monkey hat at CVS and thought to get it for my daughter, but no, it would never work!! Funny, they love knitted caps, berets and straw hats in the summer. Personally, I look like a smurf!

Jane

What a lovely poem, Balisha, and so true! I find myself even now doing things that my mother advised, but I was too stubborn to do when young.

I'd never heard of a Stormy Kromer before, but I do recognize them now. What a fun family photo!

I think we are mostly all the same. In our teen years image is so important. We want to be part of the crowd, in a way...and clothing can be a big part of it.
It's fun to see your kids change through the years. She does wear hats now...once in a while.
She is a daughter that has always kept us on the edge of our seats. It's been interesting to me...to see what she will do next.

I used pic monkey to apply the hats. I can't say how I did it...I fiddled around with it for so long....so Deb I guess we'll just have to imagine him on skiis. He said he was up for it as long as it was a virtual thing.

Deb from Frugal Bungalow sent me over to visit! Great post! I can't wear hats. I have a big head! You really can't tell until I try and put a hat on and it just sits perched up there giving everyone (except me!) a really good laugh. Oh, I wish I could wear hats!
