A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Mrs. C (Claus) Got Busy...

I was up at the crack of dawn...making Christmas cookies. My little radio was playing Christmas tunes...softly so Joe wouldn't wake up. Today I will be making a list and checking it twice. So many little things to remember. Appetizers to dream up, cookies to bake, hot cider recipe to find, and all the other things that go with having a houseful of company. It seems that Thanksgiving is being forgotten this year, but all the while I am preparing for the 1st of Dec. I am so thankful that I can still do this kind of entertaining. It takes me longer, but as I do each thing...there is a feeling of satisfaction like never before. .

Just as I was finishing up, we got a call from Joe's son, Mark. He wanted to come down to visit. I was in my robe and had to hurry to get some clothes on. We wanted him to replace the bulbs that are high over the kitchen counter...so, because I had been rolling cookies.... I had to wash the counter off too.The doorbell rang and there was Mark with our great grandson, Drake. They had been to McDonald's for pancakes.
We love having these little guys visit. Drake is a quiet, well behaved, little boy. He loved seeing our animated toys and was happy to sample my cookies. I got the OK from him...so I guess that they will do.Mark changed the bulbs...even though he is leery of heights. (Wish our ceilings weren't so high). They stayed for about an hour and a half and then left...Drake, giving each of us a bear hug and a kiss. We'll see him again on the 1st of Dec.

Here is is after 10 and I have the kitchen to clean up. It's cold today and tonight promises a very low temp. Gotta go and get that list made.
Have a great day...
Balisha

It's always good when you can count on family. Drake is such a cute little guy! You have me wanting to bake cookies but I have to bide my time! And then of course then it's one big crunch!

Yes, very cold here...22 degrees.

XO,
Jane

I can smell the cookies from here!!!
We CAN still do it--just takes longer, but even more satisfying when we are finished and know WE are still useful!

Cookies are my favorite holiday treat and yours look beautiful. You've combined holidays this year ~ that makes a lot of sense and gives family a chance to welcome the season.
