A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Christmas At Our House

Here are a few pictures from our house at Christmas. The little shelf over the kitchen sink is one that I look at many times during the day. My little kitchen has lots of memories on the walls and on top of the cupboards. Memories for both of us...
This is one of the windows in our living room. I have just lace valances at the windows. The room is at the back of the house, with the woods behind. There is no need for curtains...we have lots of light in this room with the windows and skylights. A simple wreath hangs above the valance.
Here's the mantle. Joe has part of his duck collection there. We don't move the ducks or dogs during the year...so I decorate around them. Changing it a bit each year as much as I can.

I'll be showing more each day. My simple decorating is done...earliest that we've ever done it, because of our early Christmas with the kids.
Today is cold...brrrrrr! 10 degrees when we got up. The sun is out and it promises to be a cold day. A good day to Christmas shop for the younger crowd. This weather will put everyone in the holiday spirit. Kids will start visiting Santa at the mall. I remember two years ago,  when Joe and I went to the mall at the end of the  holiday shopping season. We walked through the big department store and entered the mall area....looking for the Santa display. We wanted to watch the little kids visiting the big guy. We looked around for a seat to sit down and found that there aren't many at this mall. The seats were all taken. We turned around and started to leave...Joe said something funny at that point. I just asked him what he said, so I could write it here. He just said, "Geez, do you think I can remember what I said two years ago?...I don't even remember being there." So, that's the way it is today.

We have ducks all over the house. On shelves, pictures, plates and I can't forget...Joe's little Donnie Duck who sits by the TV with a baseball hat and sunglasses.
His ducks have been gifts to him...I've bought him a couple.

I'll be adding more pics as I go along here.
Thanks for visiting.
