A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Party for Brandon

It was the day for a graduation party for Brandon. We woke early to the sound of thunder and wind. Oh, no...I thought, after all the work Joe's kids did ,to put on a party for 70 people...it had to storm. The party wasn't until 2 so there was time to change things a bit. The tables were set up in their finished garage and the party went on as though it hadn't even rained. I took my camera, but didn't spend the day taking pictures, so I have very few to share. The first one is of our Brandon with some of his friends. I can't get over how he has grown. His mom brought out some albums that she had just finished, of his school years. Her first attempt at scrapbooking and they were done so well. We all enjoyed looking through them.

Here are his proud parents plus one. I just took impromptu pictures...none of them posed. Our great grandson, Luke, was eating next to Grandpa Mark.
Here's Luke again next to his dad Matthew. Luke really enjoyed the food and being able to just go over to the buffet table and help himself. As you can see he has just potato chips on his plate.
Talk about enjoying the food...here is cousin Bridget enjoying the cake. This little cutie entertained me most of the time. I loved her ruffles and as the day wore on her hair gor curlier and curlier with the humidity. She just celebrated her first birthday...so much fun to watch her toddle around. I failed to get a picture of her 4 yr. old brother, Brody...who arrived in a little sporty hat, that he kept on through most of the party.
These guys are Joe's grandsons. Matt in blue is an established police officer and Dave is at the police academy right now...in training for police job in Rockford, Illinois. They are both married and each has a son. I worry about their chosen profession. They are playing a game against who else???
Their wives, of course...I think the guys won.
I didn't take too many pictures...just wanted to enjoy the day and not have to be in everyone's face with a camera. The party was planned so well by Mark and Julie. The food was plentiful.and delicious..we groaned at the tables. The conversations were interesting...so many different ones going on at once. It was a nice party...turned out it never rained again that day. Joe and I had to leave early because a Mass was being said for Tim at our Church. On the way back from Mass we decided to go back to the party and visit with some who had come late. All in all...it was a wonderful day to celebrate Brandon.

Family times are so wonderful. Isn't summer just the best. I attended a family baby shower today and it was so good to see everyone since we live out of town. You have a great family. It's so nice a Mass was said for your son. Wishing you a great week ahead Balisha.
