I went over to Church this morning to hang some door pieces that I had made for the front doors. We have pots of geraniums at the front door, so I made up little baskets with silk geraniums included. The ivy hangs down as it hangs on the door.

While I was there, I noticed that everything looked so pretty and I decided to take a few pictures. The first is the Grotto from the front. The flowers that have faded in front of the shrubbery are daffodils. They were so pretty...this is the first year for them.
Behind the Grotto there are native grasses and Nepeta. Little Blue Spruces were moved back because they were starting to grow bigger than we planned.
This side view shows the roses and other perennials. There are also some petunias that should fill in later. This is a special spot for us, because it is Joe's creation.
While I was taking pictures of the Grotto, I walked over to Mary's Garden. The gardeners have been busy planting. The pots and planter on each side will soon be overflowing with annuals. The peonies smelled so Heavenly this morning.
Behind Mary is the Lamb's Ears and Purple Salvia. A clematis grows on the trellis. This garden is more established than the Grotto...having been there for many years.
Here is a closeup of the back showing the roses etc.
We removed a big Blue Spruce this year from the Church grounds. In it's place, someone donated three Redbud trees. The Redbuds along with the Chanticleer Pears at the Grotto and some other flowering shrubs will make our grounds so pretty.
This year an boy scout put in a watering system for each of these gardens as a project for his Eagle Scout. It will be such a help on those very hot days...because the ladies who care for these gardens are getting up there in years. They don't want to have to quit taking care of the gardens, so this will help them be able to do something that they love a few years longer. We have one gardener, Kathy, who is the most dedicated woman I have ever known She loves to garden. She told me that her car knows where to turn to come to Church. She's there everyday and the gardens show her touch.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the pictures in another season. It's really fun to see it change. The neighbors who live across the street and several who have driven by...always comment on how pretty it all is. There's a picnic table on the lawn for office workers and Father to have lunch. I just thought of something...Maybe a few more tables would be nice.

It is so beautiful there!! When one of my grandson's was going for his Eagle Scout badge, he made the Stations of the Cross outside for a church--it turned out just beautiful. His mother, my daughter Karen, was the gardener for their church for many years--she so loved the job.She was younger at the time. Now she teaches math at a Catholic girls high school. Maybe you and Joe could donate another table in Tim's memory?
Everything looks so incredibly beautiful and peaceful. In one of my earlier posts I photographed pictures of the gardens around our church...the one dedicated to the Virgin Mary is just stunning. Thank you so much for sharing.

Very pretty there. So nice to see people coming there to relax and rest and enjoy the beauty.
What a wonderful place. That was such a great project for that boy scout.
Everything looks so beautiful. The grotto has really came along since you all made it. Your baskets are so pretty and just the right touch Balisha.
I really enjoyed seeing the grotto this spring. What a great job you all have done.
