A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Some Visitors and an Update

This little visitor has been here since the weekend. He always hops up on the suet feeder...seems to have some trouble getting up there once in a while. He's quite comfortable with me going next to the window...isn't skittish at all. I love his little song...I think this is a tanager...maybe a Scarlet Tanager. Does anyone know for sure?
We have also had some Rose Breasted Grosbeaks visiting. They didn't want to pose for a picture, however.
I have heard the Baltimore Orioles in the woods...so I had better get their grape jelly ready.
This is the reason I love spring...the sighting of new birds in our yard and the return of old friends.

Now an update on Tim...Yesterday he had a spoonful of baby food...applesauce, and Renee put gatorade in his cup with the sponge stick. They shaved him and the speech pathologist started working with him. Still many problems but taking baby steps toward recovery.Today his cousin, who he hasn't seen in a long time, will visit him.  Tim said that he wants to go to Wisconsin and just relax at his sister's house on the lake.He barely speaks...but he has such a whisper of a voice right now...so hard to understand him and frustrating for him I'm sure.

Balisha,
I was just catching up with blogs and came across the posts about your son. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. What a scary thing to go through.
Happy you have those lovely birds to help you cope. There is such healing power in nature.

This is good news. Balisha, I never really understood what was the initial problem. Did he have a stroke? Whatever happened it has been horrible for the whole family. I think you are correct in thinking that bird is a scarlet tanager. If I remember correctly, the summer tanager has no black on him. I always thought that was a backwards way to name them. You surely have some interesting birds that would be unusual for us to see here.

Yes--a Scarlet Tanager. I am so happy with the news of Tim's good progress--it all just takes so much time. They say, for every day you are in hospital, when you get home-it takes four days to get your strength back. So, if you were in hospital for two weeks, it would take 56 days to completely feel well--and not tired all the time.

Hi,
He has septic shock which caused organ failure. It started with a urinary track infection, He was hospitalized a couple of months ago and was catherized...maybe that's when the infection started.(Just my opinion.) His liver and kidneys were hit...so just now time to wait and see what will happen. It looks like he might need a liver transplant...and his kidneys aren't functioning correctly.
We are hopeful that he'll come out of this and be able to lead a normal life.

Oh, you poor things! I know how I would feel if it were my Tad Boy (born 1957). Seems it will take a long time. But little steps of improvement are encouraging. We mothers grasp at signs of hope. Each one is an answer to prayer. And the prayers will keep coming.

It's a step, Balisha, and a positive one! :) I am so glad that you are updating every day! :) I had my house torn up ( getting some flooring ) and couldn't get on to check until now but I am glad to see your update. I feel so badly for him and all of you but each small step is progress.

God Bless and you remain in my prayers!!
