A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

An Update and the Birds in My Yard

An update....Tim (still in ICU) was up in a chair yesterday and the speech therapist gave him some exercises to do after giving him some swallow tests.He needs this to be able to eat and drink and talk of course.  He asked for his cell phone and a root beer :) Renee was given brochures for rehab hospitals for his ambulatory and speech problems. I guess that these are the first important things that need to be taken care of before they tackle anything else. Thank you for your comments and continuing prayers. I know that they are working.

Today is gloomy here...a little rainy. It's the way that Mother Nature takes care of us older ones....she gives us nice days and we work our bodies so hard in our gardens, and then the day of rain comes, so we can come inside and rest. The lawns are so lush right now. They came to mow yesterday and had to mow the huge backyard two times. You might never know that we had a drought last year. Just a few patches of bare ground are showing...and they will soon fill in.
I always take down the bird feeder from the front in the summer, but this year we will leave it there. It hangs inches away from the window in our computer room Joe and I both have computers and both  keep an eye on the feeder for new birds. Very interesting Sparrows, Scarlet Tanagers, Cardinals, Finches of many kinds (gold and red), and Wrens  have been our visitors this morning. The Juncos are gone and the Wrens are back. I put the Oriole feeder up yesterday...I hear their beautiful sound in the woods...though they haven't come to the feeder yet as I can tell.  The Blackbirds are present with their funny songs(?) They will be around until their nesting is done. Doves are here...not sure if they have a nest in our tree we call Blue and then there is our chipmunk buddy...it seems he is on the feeder when ever it is empty of birds. So cute...with chubby cheeks full of sunflower seeds. Scrambling to get his cheeks filled to the brim before getting chased away by some bird. I checked my website that shows bird migration and the Hummingbirds have been seen in many of our neighboring towns..so up the feeders went to welcome them back.
You know, I could do this bird watching and tending all day and never get bored. I have to make myself do my housework and now I find that there is a new spring in my step.... to get that done...so I can go outside again;

Good Afternoon Balisha, I am so pleased to hear about Tim's improvement, may he continue to get better and better until he returns to his old self.
I have never seen a hummingbird, but I have seen them on documentary programmes and they are beautiful little birds. How wonderful that you are able to get a "birds eye view" of these little beauties.
I love the sound of the black bird song. When the weather warms up, I sit in my garden and I can hear them singing so beautifully in the evening.
With warmest wishes to your son Tim and to you and your family.

Must scroll further back to see who Tim is and what it is you have been dealing with. My prayers go out to you anyhow.

Had to laugh at your comment about the rain. Wanting to do so much in the garden I have had to take lots of breaks because of rain or strong winds and as much as I don't want to I realise it is good for me!!

Checking in on you during lunch break : ) Am so happy to hear he is continuing to get better! :)
I have my little munchkin grandson here for the day and I've had the house torn apart spring cleaning for days now. I know what you mean about the rain being a rest day! :)

I know what you mean about watching the feeders. Please send some of those Orioles to my garden. We had them on the farm where I grew up and I surely do miss them.

YES, YES, YES!!! I remember when Fred had to do the swallow tests--very common after being on a vent. The first time the bit of water he swallowed went down into his lungs. But days later--everything was all right and he had a chocolate shake, LOL. Tim is going to be okay--St. Jude has NEVER failed me . I continue to pray the novena. God is so good!!! YES,YES,YES, to the bird feeders--I too am looking for the hummers and the Orioles--so far I have lots of Gold Finches, Chick-A-Dees, Titmouse, Cardinals, House Finches and sparrows and a few starlings. I have a chppie that fills his cheeks with whatever seed is on the ground. I can see it all from my chair in the living room and I love the show!!!

And I admire your disposition now.
