A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Surprise

Here is my Christmas cactus. It wasn't to be outdone by the Easter flowers. Last year, a chipmunk or squirrel or raccoon got into my cactus on the front porch and destroyed it. I had had it for several years and was just putting it out for the summer. I went to a little greenhouse and decided to get three to fill a terra cotta pot that I had. The plants weren't marked as to color...so I just took a chance and bought three not knowing what color they were. This time I hung the pot up, so that little pests couldn't get into it.Part of it bloomed at Christmas...red. Now, the other two have joined it....pink and white. I kind of like it this way. It will be hanging outside again this year....on the front porch. A mistake turned into a delightful surprise.
it's dreary and rainy today. A nice day to get some closet changing done.
There are two squirrels in the feeder outside the window. They are munching on all the sunflower seed. They are scaring the birds away...so I'll give them a knock on the window to send them into the trees.

I love the Christmas cactus--I had a huge one--long ago--it was gorgeous. I can hardly wait to get my pots filled with geraniums--I like the fuschia colored ones with dark blue petunias in with them. Also, pots and pots of Impatiens. Hurry up spring!!!!!

That's fun.

I like the mixed colors. Many years ago we had a friend with a Christmas cactus that thrived in his kitchen, warmed all winter with a gas stove.
