A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Thanksgiving Poem

I really didn't have any ideas about what to post....so I'm digging this out of the past for you to read.
Have a great day today,
Balisha

A Thanksgiving Poem, by Balisha
The sky today was bright and clear.
I thought since Thanksgiving was so near,
That today a shopping I would go..
To make our cupboards overflow.
Over the river and through Byron's woods,
In my little red Mazda..looking for goods.
The store was packed...the lot was busy..
I found a spot...my head was dizzy.
I went in with hopes that I could see,
Things on my list...waiting for me.
Turkey and dressing and pumpkin pie,
Cranberries, relish and my oh my.
I filled my cart with so much glee,
I could not wait for Joe to see.
Went up to the counter to pay for it all..
There were people waiting...having a ball.
So much laughter, so much fun.
We chatted and talked until we were done.
I went out to the lot and filled the car..
Opening a treat...a snickers bar.
Driving home with all this food,
Put me into a wonderful mood.
How lucky am I to have lots to eat..
And some cash leftover for a yummy treat.
My plea for all on this Thanksgiving Day...
Is that we never forget to bow heads and pray.
And to take some time and well earned cash..
To the Salvation Army..and go with a dash.
Fill the kettles so we all can say..
I helped someone else on Thanksgiving Day.

I'm glad you reposted your poem -- it was well worth reading again and reminding us of all for which we have to be thankful. And a gentle nudge to fill that Salvation Army kettle!
Thanks for you visit and comment!

Love this Balisha.
Cold and rainy in my woods.
Have a good rest of the day :)

I had to smile at this. A gentle reminder that not everyone has a warm comfy home and plenty to eat on Thanksgiving.
It's nice to dig back when you come up short for a post.
I've been absent from blogging lately due to illness. I can't come up with anything either..but you did a good deed by reminding us..
My girl..YOU are a poet..no doubt! :)
