A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Balisha and the Bee

Balisha and the Bee By Balisha

Tidying up the garden and putting plants to bed..
I heard a little buzzing going around my head.
I saw a big fat bumblebee all dressed in woolly gear..
All striped with yellow and with black from ear to tiny ear.
She looked so busy in the mums...I sat back just to watch..
This last little bee of summer...in my garden patch.
She moved both back and forth so slow.. on each and every mum..
The busy little sound from her just made me want to hum.
She stopped and sat on one bright flower and looked about to say..
"Thanks Balisha, for these mums...you saved my life today.
For flowers are so scarce.. this time of year it's true..
It's hard to find some nectar, and I was getting blue.
Then I spotted this purple mass just standing here so tall..
One last meal before I go..to hibernate this fall."
I turned to leave this bee alone, to sip the nectar sweet..
I went on about my business.. to make my garden neat.
I heard a buzz.. then saw a flash of black and yellow going by..
She waved a wing and then took flight...I hope she doesn't die.
When next year comes I'll watch for her.. I'll hear a buzzing sound..
She'll sample every flower and then she'll look around.
We'll see each other then and there..she'll tip her little wing..
And fly on to other pretty flowers after making my heart sing.

Hi Balisha! I love your "bee" poem and read all about the little house and what you are doing in the garden. I have nothing but leaves in my yard. Thousands and millions of leaves. I rake, mulch, rake again, mulch again and they still come. One day I will get them all! It has been beautiful here but tonight supposed to turn cold. I hope you are both well. Love and hugs.

Sweet poem Balisha! The bunnies have eaten many of our mum blooms. There's still one plant left with blooms, and it looks like the same color as yours is. I love having mums in the garden at a time of year when little else is blooming.
