A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

My Feelings About 9/11

Here we are a decade after 9/11 and this weekend promises to be one of remembrance ceremonies, tears, and spoiled a bit by terror once again. I looked up terrorism this morning and this is what I found.....
Terrorism is the use of force or violence against persons or property for the purpose of
intimidation, coercion, or ransom. Terrorists often use violence and threats to create fear
among the public, to try to convince people that their government is powerless to prevent acts
of terrorism, and to get immediate publicity for their causes.

President Obama was briefed again about the threat Friday morning before heading to an economic event in Richmond, Va. The president told his top security advisers to ensure that all necessary precautions were being taken ahead of Sunday's 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
U.S. officials are pursuing what they call a credible but uncorroborated al-Qaida threat about a potential car bombing of bridges or tunnels in New York or Washington.
President Obama is scheduled to mark the 9/11 anniversary Sunday at New York's ground zero, the Pentagon, and the field at Shanksville,Pa.
Instead of being able to take part in our own remembrances of that tragic day...we must look over our shoulders and watch for unusual things going on around us. I guess that is what the world has come to...keeping alert in most every situation in our lives. I have confidence in our leaders and know that they are doing everything possible to make the weekend safe for everyone. Still, when you have a daughter, who lives in DC...like I do, we may be a little uneasy. I still shed tears... when I see pictures and hear survivors stories of that time in history. I know that we must have ceremonies like these, but I for one...will be glad when the weekend is over. I know, according to the Bible, we are supposed to love our enemies, but sometimes it's so hard. I have a tough time with that. Why must people be so evil?
I'd like to end this on a more positive note...here is the address of a most inspiring video to watch this weekend.

I have no answer for you, Balish about why people have to be so evil. They think they aren't. I wish I could be more profound.

If you read my post about the reasons Michael Schuerer gave for why the radical Muslims think they way they do, you can better understand their reasoning.

Not that it makes it alright that they did what they did but we are not entirely innocent either.

We have killed thousands of their innocents too with our revenge.

There must be a better way.

In some ways, I feel like the bad guys won. Our way of life has changed most radically, and wasn't that their intent?
I don't have any family that works near D.C., but I can surely understand how you would be a nervous wreck, sometimes.
