A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Drake's First Birthday

It was Drake's birthday party yesterday...his first birthday...where did the time go? He's not walking yet, but crawling around to investigate everything. He is just the best baby. So calm and easy going. The top picture shows him taking a bite out of his little cake. The picture below shows him in the shirt his Mommy made for him. So cute...He wore the bow on top of his head through all the present opening. I think that he forgot it was there.

Here are his little sandals next to Great Grandpa's size 14's. I was holding his little shoes and looked down at Joe's and had to take a picture. The kids did a great job with this first party. They made it all so special, by adding little homemade touches in everything. The house was decorated with Sponge Bob and the individual birthday cake for Drake was made by his Mommy. It looked like Sponge Bob. When it was put in front of him...he leaned forward and took a bite, without touching it with his hands. We all clapped...and then he did too. The barbeque was made by his Daddy...it was delicious. Then there were salads and Grandpa Marks famous beans and an ice cream cake. Lots of people came to celebrate this little one's first birthday...

Absolutely love the shoe pic! I am going to be a grandma myself in March :-) I want to be called Nana though.

The time does fly and I am amazed he kept his hands off the cake long enough to take the photo. Cutie.
