A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Snow is Coming....Balisha's in the Kitchen

You may wonder what this horse picture is doing here. We watched a wonderful movie this afternoon. The long awaited 'Secretariat" was on our TV screen. We thoroughly enjoyed it. If you plan to be snowed in for the next few days...this one would be a good one to rent. The picture is of Secretariat.

The weather forecast is predicting the biggest blizzard in our country's history. That sent people scurrying to the hardware store to load up on snow melting products, shovels, wiper fluid and many to gas stations to fill up their gas cans and cars. ...people buying extra groceries...milk, eggs, t paper, bread etc. I hear snowblowers being revved up and on the ready. TV shows are making dire predictions. It's a weatherman's dream...this weather coming. The library is busy...people loading up on magazines and books. Video stores are renting stacks of movies. What did I do to get ready?? I went into the kitchen and put a turkey in the oven. I always think of food at a time like this. A hot turkey dinner, turkey sandwiches, and a bonus...I made some turkey soup with the carcass. It's all in the fridge and freezer just waiting for the two of us. I probably won't have to cook for the next couple of days ...I'll be able to sit by the window and watch as the snow piles up. I'll be back here tomorrow...to tell you the weather report..

I used to chuckle at the people loading up like they were never going to get out again, but there I was doing about the same thing. I wonder how much snow we will end up with? Oh well, I guess we'll know on Wed. night. Stay warm...Balisha

I loaded up yesterday too. But I'm here by myself with only Slinky and Missy for company and I have plenty of dog and cat food for them.

Stay warm and safe.

I have been waiting on this movie since it came out. We are on Netflix and I got a notice yesterday that it is in the mail. I can't wait to see it. I have several friends that were extras in the movie and it was filmed not far from me. I am hoping it gets here today or tomorrow. I will quit everything and watch it. I think you saw Dreamer??? It is my favorite movie so far and it was filmed here, too. It has Dakota Fanning and Curt Russell. We are supposed to miss the weather. It is going North of us into Indiana. We are getting rain now. I was scared to death we would get it in the form of ice like we did several years ago and no electric for 4 days! Your soup and turkey sounds good. I am hungry right now!

Balisha, Wonder if some of that storm will come to the Tennessee-Kentucky border - where I live?
I try to keep pantry well stocked and have a stack of unread books.
Stay warm and safe :)
