Let there be peace on earth, And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth.. The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father.. We are family.
Let us walk with each other.. In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me.. Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment And live each moment With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth, And let it begin with me
This beautiful morning, as I look out my window, I simply can't imagine what is going on in Arizona. It's so peaceful here...hard to believe that a few short hours ago it was this way in Arizona...what happened? None of us know the exact details, but we hear all kinds of talk on TV and radio. It's really a sad day for America...and for all of us. We really have to put a stop to all the hatred and bigotry in our world. We each must find a small thing that we can do to make our world more tolerant. Just imagine if everyone did a small act of kindness everyday...I hate to get preachy here, but maybe some need to find a Church or Synagogue or Mosque to visit, or maybe visit someone you don't know in a nursing home, do good things for a hospice, use your knitting skills for shelters, cook food at a homeless shelter, help build with Habitat, or if you can't do those things just bake cookies for your next door neighbor, that you have never met. Most of all bite your tongue when you are going to say something unloving. So, as I sit here and look out my window at the peaceful scene, families are caring for injured loved ones, some are grieving for lost family, and a woman lies in ICU with a gunshot to her head.

I came back today...I have been in the kitchen making spaghetti and meatballs for our dinner. Joe has had CNN on and I have been listening from the other room. I am just a simple woman with maybe a "Pollyanna" view of things. I admit to this...I am always the one to have a more optimistic view. I always seem to look for the "silver lining." After all the "talk" on TV today, I find that it's the same as before. Whenever there's a tragedy...they say the same things. I only wish that more people could do something to prevent this heartache in the world. I replied to a comment from Sherry from Arizona. I told her that when I heard the news of this shooting, the first ones I thought of were my blogger friends in Arizona. We are a close community, even if we never meet each other. I think that we can help so much with what we put on our blogs. Balisha

A beautiful and moving post! Its so disheartening nowadays to read the newspaper or listen to the news on TV and radio, so much hatred, crime, conflict all over the world! Let it be peace on earth...
Balisha dear, would you please delete my comment mentioning the Speak of the house. NOT a good thing to do. It only makes more fuel. I should have checked my thoughts before I put them down on here. I'm so sorry.

Good Morning Balisha Sweetie...
Yes it is a very sad day here in Arizona. 6 people dead, several still clinging to their lives. Our Congresswoman Gabbie still clinging to her life. The young girl was 9, she went with a neighbor as she was newly elected into student council at her school. So horrible. DH and I clung to the TV most of yesterday trying to see what had happened.
They tell us they are still searching for another man in question, they think the two came together to the Safeway. He is shown on msn page today.
Arizona being a right to carry arms state, can be scary when the gun is in the wrong hands. Last night here in Phoenix, they did a candlelight vigil by our State Capitol and there was problems there as well. Apparently someone showed up hollering and disrupting that one too. What is this world coming to?
We continue to pray, and hope for a full recovery for our Congresswoman and all of the others still fighting to survive the horrendous attack that was made on them yesterday.
Thank you for your prayers Balisha. I think our whole country needs more of them.
Many hugs sweetie and SO much love, Sherry
Hello,
It seems that our news travels so fast...to Maylasia.Oh, how I wish things were different and we could all just get along. Please go to the bottom of the post and read what I have written. Thankyou for reading and taking the time to leave a comment. I will visit your blog soon. balisha
Hi Mona...I am deleting your comment, but I really don't see anything wrong with voicing our opinions.I get so upset with our government and how they handle things, but I do believe that these people have been voted in by a majority and we have to live with the results of the elections...so we might as well just learn to be tolerant and give them a chance to get things done.Balisha
And now you, Sherry,
Isn't it funny that the first people I thought of, when I heard this news, were the blogger friends I've made in Arizona. We put our words down and they go out all over the world. Think of the homemaker in Malaysia...hearing this dreadful news and taking the time to answer my post. We are a close community...we bloggers. Even though we may never meet we feel the heartbeats of our "friends" through our computers. I think that we can make a huge difference in the world, by what we put in our blogs.Balisha
