The little girl was bundled up from her head down to her toe..
The snow was falling lightly, but they really had to go.
Advent was upon them and the Church would soon be ready..
The hushed voices of the ladies as they worked so very steady.
The Altar cloths were ironed and placed where they belong..
The little girl was humming a little Christmas song.
The manger was assembled and placed on table low..
She watched them place each statue from her hiding place below.
She glanced at it and wondered... the Babe could not be found..
She looked and looked so quietly and didn't make a sound.
The ladies jobs were finished and they were ready to go out..
The little girl just turned around for a final look about.
Each week at Mass she wondered where the little Babe could be..
She turned her curly head and looked to see if she could see.
The tiny Baby Jesus asleep upon the hay..
She'd put the manger there herself.. a place for Him to lay.
When Christmas Eve arrived and it was oh so cold..
The Church was very pretty the Altar candles glowed.
The little girl was quiet..she didn't make a sound..
She heard some carols from the choir, as she turned to look around.
And what do you suppose she saw.. coming down the aisle?
It was someone carrying Jesus and she began to smile.
They placed Him in the manger filled with some yellow straw..
The little girl was breathless at the spectacle she saw.
A light, it seemed from Heaven, filled the Church... oh what a sight..
The Babe was placed where he belonged on that cold cold winter night.

How beautiful! It reminds me of the very first time my parents took me to see the manger scene in front of our church and the very first time I experienced that feeling that sweeps us ...and we begin to know what is is all about.
Christmas...
