Here...now don't they look better? Before long they will be huge and will completely fill in that area.
The first lilies that I have seen. I have found that I love lilies...the Japanese beetles don't bother them. Tough plants.
I moved this pot to the front...all the way from the back. I want to put a yellow tomato in it. I dumped a bag of red mulch and started to spread it around. I need more.
Here is another picture of the same area. When I moved here I hated the red mulch, but have grown to love it. I do like it after it's been down awhile and loses some of the bright color. Next I moved to the woods. No pictures. I dumped my wheel barrow and got the weed whacker going. It looks pretty good back there. Remember how far I have to walk? I came up to the house...exhausted and found that I had left a rake back there. Another long walk. When I got to the front I found a pile of branches that Audra and Keely and I had picked up yesterday. We just put them in a pile for today. By now, Joe was in the house and I decided to just leave the wheel barrow and branches there for another time.

Hi Balisha, I got to spend some time in the yard Tuesday afternoon. If I'm lucky, I can spend a couple hours outside Friday. Supposed to be cool Friday and cold over the weekend. Just my luck. Oh well, I just got an order from amazon.com (2 new books) so I'll be happy if I have to stay inside.

Hello Balisha,
I also have an old denim jacket that I wouldn't be parted from for the world. I cannot wait to see what surprises are in store for me as I get to view your spring garden for the first time.
I did the same thing today, Balisha. Isn't it wonderful to be able to get out and work in the yard??
I have days when I have to talk myself into getting started. LOL! Once I get going then I have to remember to start out gradual after getting lazy in the winter. Then it still finds these muscles I haven't used all winter. And here I thought I was using them all.
I really like your birdbath. I have never saw one like it with the woodpecker on it. How neat.
Your beds look better for all of your hard work.I use red mulch too. I thought about changing to the black last summer and mentioned it to my son. He wrinkles up his nose at me. LOL! Since he is the one who hauls it in to me in his truck I never mentioned it again. LOL!
Cannot wait to work in the yard, just haven't been up to it the last few nights. Hopefully this evening. Nothing like getting your hands in the dirt.
Cathy
The weather has been beautiful here for the last few days and Sat. it should be almst 70 degrees. I am looking forward to working in the yard... I got out some of my work cloths also but I won't be wearing them this year. They will go to goodwill. I have gone from a size 18 to a 10 since July!!! I feel so good!!! Have a great weekend!!!
I can already see what a treat we have in store for us as Spring progresses and Summer comes. I just did the same thing to my plants out front and still have tons more to do! How I wish we had open space around us as you do! My Redwoods have grown a couple of feet and I am hoping they will make great strides this year.
Thanks for the pictures of your yard as it begins it's journey, Balisha!!
This Saturday it's supposed to be in the 60's!!!!
I'll be outside for sure.
Also, will be making your Irish Soda bread this Sunday. Thanks.
Ah, I am so behind on my garden this year -- have yet to plant the potatoes or peas!
Hi everyone...Well, the snow is here and I may curl up with a good book too, Marnie,
Noelle...I am hanging my denim jacket on the hook until next week when it will be warmer,
Margie and Lona,My first venture out into the yard was good...didn't overdo, so I feel good now. A little at a time this year.
Cathy...It will all get done in time...no rush..that's my new motto.
Lynn..I would toss those old clothes too, if I had lost all that weight. Congrats!
Mona...I sometimes wish for a cozy yard.. all enclosed. We aren't ever happy...grass is always greener on the other side.
Elenka..Maybe I'll make Irish Soda Bread again this weekend. It's not sweet, so I can keep my Lenten promise of not eating desserts.
The gardens are all behind this year.. Mr.Eastcoastdweller. Thanks for reading.Come again.
