A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

My Garden in the Basement

This is the plant unit that I have...the plants are not mine, however. Hopefully I can post some interesting pictures during the winter of my plants.

Busy day ahead. I am getting ready for fall and then winter. I am going to change things around in the basement...move plant shelves and put a big table in front of the windows. I'm going to rehang my lights, so they are over the table and shelves. I have plants down there now and will be adding many more for winter keeping. My Poinsettia will come in, Christmas Cactus plants, Amaryllis, Cacti from the front porch and some other plants that I will try to save. Lynn, at http://lusarytole.blogspot.com/ has good luck growing Geraniums from cuttings. She gave me the directions and I am going to try doing it this year. My Wandering Jew is wandering and needs to be re potted. Ivys are growing well and I may train them on my heart shaped form in a pot. I started an Avocado seed, two of them in fact, and one has started to grow. It seems I've waited forever for this. I don't know about you, but I have to know what's going on under ground, so yesterday I gently pulled one up...and voila, there is a white root. Patience, Balisha. I am going to plant seeds again this Spring, God willing, to put in the garden. My Marigolds and Zinnias are really nice. We want to do tomatoes from seed. So, it looks like I will need lots of room to do this. We will be busy this winter growing our garden in the basement. Now to go down and start the work....maybe I should wash the windows....you think?

How I love your blog! I read todays post and longed to feel strong once again. I am afraid I am becoming a bit difficult lately. That certainly isn't going to help my confinement. One day at a time..but I loved the surge of joy I felt when reading of your fall and winter plans..I am looking forward to fall..and Winter and another Springtime. Your comments have warmed me ...
Hugs,
Mona

Thankyou for reading and leaving a comment,Mona. I am so glad that you are feeling better. I find it comforting, that we bloggers can become friends through our posts. When you were sick, I felt like a good friend was not feeling well. If I could have sent chicken soup over the internet...I would have. Hang in there dear friend...nice to have you back.Hugs

Your plant stand looks wonderful, I have already started collecting some seeds. My 75 ornamental cabbage and kale just got uppotted into larger pots last night so they will be ready for fall... never enough time...
Thanks for posting my blog...

Your plant stand look good. Wish I had somewhere to have one.No place in my basement. If I tried to have one in the house I am afraid my hubby's cat would be jumping on it all the time. Glad you will be able to do some gardening in the winter.
