A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Balisha's Birdhouse...and a Poem

The Birdhouse by Balisha

There was a little birdhouse given once to me..

I hung it in the garden for everyone to see.

It hung there through the seasons and I wondered why..

No one came to live there... didn't even try.

I changed it's location one early July morn..

A little bird came hopping...looking so forlorn.

She flew up to the rooftop and checked it out with glee...

I think that I could hear her and her little voice.. tee hee.

She had found the perfect home for her little eggs of two..

She made me very happy and then I wasn't blue.

A perfect situation for both the bird and me .

A home for her it's true and a sight for me to see.

So, if you have a birdhouse that is empty for awhile ..

Some bird will find it soon and think it's just her style.

Before the day is over she'll have a nest sublime..

In your little birdhouse like the one here in my rhyme.

This is my tale of a birdhouse in my yard. Sometimes they hang there forever, it seems, before a bird even gives it a notice. This one was given to me by my husband's family. It is patiently waiting for a resident. I hung it in the clematis vine, where it is nice and cozy. I watched it daily and no bird even checked it out, as far as I know. It's funny...we think, "What a perfect little house for a bird," We can't understand why they don't snatch it up. The birds know birdie real estate...they know where it is best for them. I'm not changing the location of this house. I still think a bird would be lucky to live there. I am a patient woman...I know that some little bird will want to live in this little house...maybe next year.

Oh, how cute! I was just thinking this morning that nesting season is probably over here in Kentucky, so maybe we can go after some of that rampant wild honeysuckle and clear it out.

I love your poem and your birdhouse. It is so cute. I have two not far from each other. One of them is used the other one has never had an occupant. Maybe, I need to move it to another place.

Love your poem. It's true...in our many, many birdhouses, some are still on the market.

If it is any comfort at all, I would live in that little birdhouse home in a heartbeat, were I a bird of course!
It is adorable. I have several birdhouses and wondered the same thing. In my case I believe they are too close to the house..maybe!
What cute poem. I write those too and was so delighted to find you do the same! :)
Hugs,

Thanks for the nice comments about my little poem. Birds have a mind of their own. We think, "A perfect home for you, Bluebird...and a Wren moves in" Go figure!
