A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Rain, Rain, Go Away....or not!

This is an addition to the morning post...I guess we are never happy. The rain stopped, but now it is 91 degrees outside..Whew!
Hard to work in this heat.I'm soaked...and not from rain! Now I'm in for the day.
Rain, rain, go away....Balisha wants to play. I am looking out my rain spotted window and can see the wild gardens. The inches of rain that have fallen have made things look like a rain forest. I have never seen such lush foliage. Rain drop pictures are pretty and this one I loved. It wasn't taken by me, but I wanted to use it here. My childhood memories are often about rain. Wading in puddles after a storm, using a new umbrella and twirling it in a puddle. Taking one to grade school and popping it open and shut in the cloakroom to get everyone wet. Putting on swim suits and running in the rain.
I remember one time buying a yellow raincoat for my Cocker, Maggie. We put it on her and she went sailing through the house with the coat dragging on the floor. She acted like she had a bee on her bottom. She wanted that thing off. It was never used outdoors.

The rain gauge is a big thing at our house. Every inch of rain is measured carefully. We must know how much rain we got. Then various emails come to our computer telling how much rain friends and relatives got. We seem proud that we got the most.
Hopefully the rains will stop and we will be able to get the lawn mowed, flowers deadheaded and fertilized, weeds pulled, birdbaths filled etc. Oh, my....what a nice thing...a rainy day. We can forget all that work and just read, watch TV, knit or just look out that rain spattered window and think about all the work that we must do tomorrow.

I think our rain has finally stoped for a while. No rain in sight for at least 4 days. Eveything does look wonderful especially the weeds!!! LOL I hope to get things done in the gardens this week... Have a great day!!

I love a rainy day...a truly rainy day when the rain falls in steady showers. I, too, remember putting on our bathing suits as children and running around in the rain. If the neighbours wouldn't give me such strange looks, I believe I still would! :)

I also have similar childhood memories of rainy days. We used to stomp through puddle while wearing our gumboots. We sure have enjoyed the rain here as we did not have any moisture for 28 days.

It is raining here today but I don't know how much we got so far. I think I will get a rain gauge the next time I go to Walmart since I don't have one. It is so humid and has been for a week. That is unusual for this time of year in Kentucky. I loved the one about your father. I can see why he was such a special person.
