A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

A Pile of Red Mulch

It was delivered this morning...a huge pile of red mulch. Now I haven't always enjoyed red mulch, but after living here for 6 yrs...I have come to like it. It really cuts down on the weeds, cuts down on the trimming with the mower for me, keeps the plants more moist, and gives the yard a tidy look. Joe hired a young man to help us. I was to arrange the mulch around my delicate plants. Easy job...we would be done in a couple of hours. I found that a pitchfork worked the best. I have a small three tined fork that worked great around hostas. Joe hooked up the trailer on the lawn tractor and he and the helper filled it time and time again and placed it around the house and trees. I pushed my lawn cart and did the close work...around tender plants and flowers. It was very strenuous work and we both decided that it was the last time we would do it. We still have a third of the pile to do tomorrow. We are pooped.
We worked and sat, worked and sat, worked and sat. Finally we were doing more sitting than working. The young man had mowed two lawns before he started here. He still had three or four to do on his way home. I don't think that he ever sat. When did this happen to us...we wanted to know? The good thing about being married is you can work together and if you are the same age, you understand how the other one feels. It's a comfortable thing.

The first lemonade of the season was in order. It tasted so good. Our helper said that it was delicious. We finished up, what we were going to do today. Tomorrow is another day and is supposed to be in the 80's. We will get up and get started before it gets hot. We may finish tomorrow and we may not. That's the nice thing about being retired...there's always tomorrow....unless we fall face first in the mulch pile and then we will have a long rest.

I understand how tired You must be. It´s a tougher job than one can belive. Red mulch is very unusual here and a bit expensive.
