A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Can We Please Plant the Seeds Today?

My little neighbor girl loves to garden with me. She asked if we could plant seeds again this year. Last year her little 5 year old hands were perfect for nasturtiums. Those seeds are nice and big.We did plant them and they grew very nicely. I asked her if she wanted to take a bouquet home and she said, "No, my Mom will think that I picked them and I'll get in trouble." Nothing I said would change her mind. This year she decided...on her own....that we would plant pumpkin seeds. I don't have room for pumpkins, so her Mom is fixing a large pot and we will plant mini pumpkins. She called me over to her house a couple of days ago and gave me a packet of seeds for a belated Mother's Day gift. Zinnias....I really had left no room in the sun for more seeds. I pulled out a clump of daisies, so she could plant them. She went home and changed her Church clothes and put on her crocs and my gardening gloves and we planted the zinnias. After that, we took an old pot and fixed a trellis sort of thing and she planted 10 pumpkin seeds around the edge. I figured if her pot at home doesn't make it...maybe this one will. I do hope she gets at least one little pumpkin from her efforts. If she doesn't...maybe the pumpkin fairy will have to make a visit.
Oh, to be a child again... and be able to kneel like that on a hard driveway!!

You put a smile on my face.
Reminds me of my little granddaughter's. Yes, fond memories she will have of you. You have planted the seed of gardening in this little one.

She is a sweetheart. She runs and gets a pair of my gardening gloves to wear. They are much too big. I said, "Audra, it's too bad they don't have little gloves for girls." She said,"they do, I saw them at WalMart." So today, while shopping, I bought her a pair. We planted the final seeds at her house and I gave her the gloves before. She was thrilled.
