We were guests at a beautiful wedding on Sat. afternoon. We have known the bride and groom for quite awhile. Jill is our daughter- in -law's sister. Nate is the man she married. The wedding was in the same Church in which I was married in 1956. It brought back a lot of memories. The Church has been remodeled and doesn't even resemble the old one. The music was like a concert...so beautiful. An accomplished pianist playing a baby grand piano. She then switched to a pipe organ to play the wedding march. The girls wore burgundy dresses and the male attendants wore black tuxes. The flowers were bouquets of roses and lilies. The bride was stunning. This Church has a female pastor. She made the wedding so personal and loving. It's really nice when a Pastor knows the couple. It is much more comfortable for the bride and groom. These two people have had careers and are just a bit older than some couples. The Pastor gave them advice on not being selfish...making their partner the most important person in their lives....learning to give in...not always having their own way...not always having to be right. We sat there and the advise given could apply to all of us. We kind of renewed our vows...just listening.
The reception was at a very popular country restaurant. The room was done like a gazebo. Everything white...chair covers, table linens, the room was all windows looking out at gardens with a gazebo with fairy lights in the trees. There were fairy lights all over the ceiling of the room also. Each table had a tiered glass arrangement of falling flowers in the wedding colors. At each place was a decorated packet of forget me not seeds. Burning candles were everywhere. The wonderful dinner was enjoyed by over 100 people. There were people there that I hadn't seen for years. All in all...a wonderful day.
Weddings are a wake up call for us I think. Sometimes we get so used to our everyday lives that we might forget how we felt about that special person we married. You both sit there at a wedding and listen to the vows ....and take home a recharged outlook on your marriage. We came home, after eating the chocolate and vanilla wedding cake. The music was playing and people were still dancing. I love weddings....can you tell?

Good advice by the Pastor :) Love your new header.
I love wedding and am a sentimental fool. If my girls ever marry (I am beginning to wonder about that) I will be a mess! I love that fellow that owns your woods below.
Balisha,
I happily cry at all weddings. I love them, even the ones where I don't know either the bride or groom. I even cry at weddings I see on TV - like the Wedding Story on TLC?
I'm glad you had a wonderful time!

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for the nice comments. I am kind of sappy...I cry at them too. I had never heard a woman pastor before...I kind of liked it.
