A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

Wisconsin visit

The trees were still not at peak, when we went to Wisconsin this weekend. As you can see in the picture...they are about a week away. We did see more color on the road. Yellow, raw sienna, yellow ochre...but the only reds were the sumacs. They were brilliant. We made our visit to my daughter's house in Wisconsin and this is what we saw as soon as we got out of the car. Grandma....hurry, hurry, look what I caught. Collin was so proud of his bass.
Tyler, my grandson on the left and Tyler, a friend in the middle and Collin. The other two boys were probably wishing that they had caught the "big one"
Friend Tyler and Collin in the tree house, under construction. It is called the recyclable tree house. They aren't buying anything for it...strictly things they find in the shed and around the property. They are using one power tool...a drill. The "steps" on the left are just to climb...they don't go anywhere...just up.
The hammock was a popular spot. My daughter and Tyler taking some time out to relax.
My husband and I were talking, on the way home, about the differences between kids now days and kids in our day. Today, there are so many kids, who never play outside. They don't use their imaginations as much. There is a book at the house in Wl called The Dangerous Book for Boys. I was looking through it and found so many different things for boys to do. Tying knots, building a campfire, building a tree house, skipping a rock...anything you could imagine that a boy would like. They found the idea for the tree house in that book. They have big plans...a second story with a hole big enough for them to go through with a rope attached. Maybe it would be a snowball fort this winter. A "zip line" from the house that they could slide in on. Fun to watch kids using their imaginations.

That is the childhood I had, we had to use our imaginations as the tech age was not yet invented :) Yes, we had a treehouse built out of scrap wood.

LOVE THAT BASS! OMG I would love to have it in a pan of hot oil.

He caught another bigger one after we left. Collin has the best luck, fishing. He just bought a new pole and really had success with it. I guess it is more than luck....patience and skill comes into it too. He is so kind to animals...he releases them. I would cook him too. :)
