A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

The welcome mat was out on Monday evening this week. We love company and this was special.
We had guests from Vermont. Old friends of mine...hadn't seen them in 30 yrs. Isn't it funny how you can get together with people, that you haven't seen in so long...and just pick up like you've never been apart? My friend, Margie, has just retired and she and Bill are making a trip to the Midwest to visit all their old friends. They are visiting Frank Lloyd Wright homes also, and they stayed at a Bed and Breakfast farm in Hampshire that was designed by FLW. They brought us a gift of Vermont maple syrup. We'll have pancakes on Saturday morning.
They had never met my husband and they got along so well. Margie retired from her job as a nurse practitioner and Joe retired as an Rn, so they had lots in common. Good conversation all evening. We did touch on politics....we try to avoid this usually, since hubby and I are on opposite sides. By our conversation, you would never know who they supported, but when leaving Bill said jokingly..."Better not let Joe see the back of our car." I joked around and took Joe's hand and led him to the back of the car. Who's name was on the bumper sticker??? Barack Obama. They never mentioned him at dinner, so Joe didn't know their choice. We laughed and laughed about that as they were leaving. We had such a good time with these friends of mine and now Joe's too. We wished them a safe trip. I hope that we see them again someday.

How wonderful to be able to get together again after all these years. It sounds like everyone had a great time and enjoyed the visit so much.

How nice to be able to get together with old friends. I wish I could take off and spend some time catching up with my friends in Tennessee and Alabama.

Very nice tree in your previous post. My maples are all golden, wish I had a red. That would make a really nice fall color display.

I'd love to have a red maple too. Mine are the old fashioned kind.

I try to stay away from discussing politics with friends until I see which way the water is flowing.

Thankyou for reading, ladies. We had a wonderful time with our friends. The visit was too short, but we were glad to have them for any amount of time.
The little maple is really losing the leaves today.
