A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

This picture shows the garden behind the statue. It was evening so the picture isn't the best.
These are those tiny, tiny, petunia like flowers. I think Superbells.

Here is the front of the garden. The color just isn't there.

This is one of my weeks to take care of Mary's Garden. I went over the other evening and checked it out. It isn't as pretty as last year. Not very colorful. The hose is kept in a pile down a sloping lawn in front of the Church. It's hard to pull up to the garden. It's a long hose and I can get worn out before I even start. There are so many plants this year, that the weeds have been kept down. When we started this garden, it was very sparce and needed weeding. When our Priest announces that we need helpers, he always says watering and weeding is needed. I think the weeding scares people off...that's probably why we don't get too many volunteers. I think it would be a good scout project or 4H...just to keep it watered through the summer. This year there are dusty miller, petunias and that tiny petunia...superbells. We also have lots of perennials. Most of them are in the back, behind the statue. There are two concrete benches in front. Everyonce in a while, I will find a single flower...a rose or daisy usually, lying on the bench...telling me that someone has visited and maybe sat there for a while. It's a nice thing to do on a summer evening.

Mary's garden is very lovely. What a nice quiet place to sit & enjoy the beauty all around you.

That is such a sweet garden and post. Balisha, a few years ago I was Googling blue flowers and discovered Mary Gardens. Then I googled Mary Gardens and found several hits which I read about the gardens. Such a sweet concept. I tend to think of them as prayer gardens; a place to stop, and think, and meditate. I can never do that here in my own garden LOL!

Hi Barbee,
I always go over early in the morning or in the evening to water. It is so peaceful. People go by and talk to me....people that I have never met before. It's kind of a feel good place.
