A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

It was brought to my attention that the Edward's Apple Orchard is open for business. This is a family owned business in Poplar Grove , Illinois. It's been a wonderful place to visit in the fall. Apples, cider and Oh those homemade cider donuts. They lost just about everything in the freak tornado and crammed two years of rebuilding into 6 months. Let's hope they have a wonderful season.

I remember going to Fruit Orchards when we lived in Texas. They had a pick your own type of business. It was really fun.

I love to buy apples in the fall of the year. I have a fresh apple cake recipe I use them for. I love peanut butter and apples, too. You are one of the few people I know who likes them with peanut butter. I used to eat them that way when I was a child.

I'll have to hunt up my apple cake recipe. It is really easy to make and is so moist. You don't need a frosting. I'll put it on my blog. Why don't you put yours on too, Judy? We'll compare.
I remember lots of visits to apple orchards. I loved getting those paper bags, with handles, full of juicy apples.

Those poor people, what a lot of hard work! Glad to know they were able to come back. Your post is a reminder that it is time to go to our local orchard. Thank you. Good idea. Regarding apples and peanut butter: in Girl Scouts we had a "walking salad" for day trips and camps. It was an apple with core removed then stuffed with peanut butter. Raisins mixed into the peanut butter was optional. I love it that way, especially if it is when the apples are new and juicy.
