We got together because our bulb order arrived and we had to get them in the ground before it got too cold for us to work. We planted Red Riding Hood tulips in clusters at the Grotto. We took out the hostas...they didn't do well in the hot sun, and substituted tulips for those for the time being.
Mary's Garden was cleaned up and the perennials were cut down. White tulips and Angelique tulips were planted here. Kathy is a master gardener and so knowledgeable about growing and plants. She is a great person to have in this job. Joan is a master gardener in training. She is learning, but really knows her way around a garden. Then there is me...I know quite a bit, but I'm always learning. I love doing this kind of work and will till I can't anymore. We finished in a few hours. Time went so fast...we work well together. We saved our visiting for lunch time. Kathy treated us to a sandwich at Three Sisters. A great morning...and I learned that Byron has a garden club. They are finished for this year, but will start up in the Spring. I have so many things to look forward to...a new club to join and seeing the many bulbs in bloom...that I have planted or helped to plant this fall. Balisha
