A Sentiment
God knew what He was doing
when He sent a gentle breeze
and brought a lovely butterfly
to set my heart at ease.
The happiness of your friendship
and the gentleness of your words
have touched my life in special ways
and now I feel assured.
Thank you for your loyalty
and for reading everyday.
I only hope you find things
to make a happy day.

A Sea of Blue
I planted Scilla under the statue of St. Francis. I had just a few bulbs and thought that they would look pretty in the little pocket between the stones. I love this little bulb plant. It reminds me of a few years ago... when a house in the town that I grew up in, had a yard full of Scilla. Every spring the lawn would be full of these little blue flowers. Even after I moved away, I would come back each spring to see this pretty sight. It was a wooded lot with an old house...the lawn was no more. It looked pretty sad the rest of the year, but in the spring it was breath taking.
Joe and I were out for dinner on Friday night and took a different way home. He was driving along and not really looking at the lawns. I spotted something out of the corner of my eye...it was blue. I told him to back up, if he could. I had seen something that I wanted to check out.
He backed up and there it was...a sea of blue. We parked the car and sat and just took in the beauty of the lawn. I wondered how long it took to get the whole property covered with these flowers. Each little flower has a bulb underneath. I didn't have my camera with me, but vowed that I'd come back to get a picture of this spring beauty. Yesterday afternoon, I went with my camera and took some pictures. Now I'm thinking of planting little pockets of these bulbs here and there in my woods. I wonder how long before whoever lives here, after me, will be able to look out the window and see a sea of blue.
