A Sentiment

God knew what He was doing when He sent a gentle breeze and brought a lovely butterfly to set my heart at ease. The happiness of your friendship and the gentleness of your words have touched my life in special ways and now I feel assured. Thank you for your loyalty and for reading everyday. I only hope you find things to make a happy day.

The Stack and Grow

Judy http://judeself.blogspot.com/ asked me where I got the planter for the geraniums in a post a couple of days ago. I bought it at Amazon. I had seen my daughter's "stack and grow" when we were visiting her at the lake. She isn't there all the time, so she needs plants that will do without watering etc. Hers is planted with sedum and other succulents. She takes it into the garage in the winter, but I don't think she would have to do this.Well, I fell in love with it....so when I got a gift card I knew what I was going to use it for. After I ordered it, I was so anxious to get it and get started planting it. They are called "stack and grows" and come in many different sizes. Hers is a little larger than mine and is more flattened...mine is taller.Since I have so many succulent type plants around the house, I decided to put geraniums in it, and they have done well. As I said before, I am going to take the layers in and try to keep the geraniums over the winter. We'll see how well they do in their vacation spot in the basement.

I think that these are really nice planters...made of plastic so they retain water and don't dry out as much. I planted geraniums in mine, knowing that they are pretty good in dry conditions. Herbs would do well in it too. Even house plants could be planted. They are nice for apartment dwellers and senior citizens, who still want to do a bit of gardening. I can visualize these at nursing homes for the residents to take care of.
This post reads like a commercial for the "stack and grow". I'm not receiving any compensation for this...just wanted to say how very happy I am with this planter and to let Judy know, so she might buy one. I appreciate it when bloggers tell about products that they like. Then you get the true story, because bloggers are pretty smart cookies :)

Balisha thanks for stopping by keewees garden. I really like your pots, I will have to look for a couple like yours.
Yes it really is sad to see all your hard work of past years, turning into nothing but an over grown weed patch.

It's a really pretty system. I like the way that the pots are slightly off-set. Jx

See how quick that was? Less then 20 minutes later and my Stack and Grow is ordered and will be here next week. Too late for this year, but with a gardener--there is always next year--and I AM READY!!! I love the idea of the Moss Rose in the top. HEY--they might have succulents on sale at the nursery across the street. I could plant them now and bring them in before the first frost and use as house plants? OH--thanks--I am so ready!!!

I have seen those stack and grows but my feeble brain could not come up with what to plant in one. LOL! I love what you have done with yours and it gives me some ideas.
