Yesterday found Joe and I at grandson Tyler's graduation party. The weather was perfect...it had cooled down considerably. Here's a picture of a happy Tyler and one of his friends coming down the aisle at graduation.
Tyler with his proud Mom and Dad.
Here he is with one of his sisters, Sydney and brother Collin.
A picture of a delicious cake. Joe and I got corner pieces with all that gooey frosting. A vanilla cake with a cheesecake type filling.
There were games for the kids to play...did I say kids? I do believe that is Tyler's dad, John, in the red shirt. He lasted until the end of several games....just proving that he could keep up with the kids.....(he wasn't sweating or out of breath like some of the kids.)
Here is Tyler tossing the bean bag in what is called corn hole, corn toss, bean bag toss...what ever you want to call it.
Collin here enjoying the food. Italian beef (really spicy) fried chicken, mostacholi, potato salad and other good stuff. This started a conversation on who makes the best potato salad...everyone agreed that their own mother makes the best potato salad :) I didn't say anything, because I know that I make the best potato salad :)
Here's Mom, Karen...who had an unbelievably busy week and still looking calm and collected at the party. I'll bet she crashed today.
Joe kept looking to the sky. He would say, "What does it mean if the clouds are dark? Sure looks like rain,
Are there clouds behind us, John? Look at that big cloud." I think that he willed it to rain. It wasn't long before the sky, which was bright and sunny once, was dark and rain was coming down. It sent many running for the house....bringing in chair cushions and plates of food. It didn't spoil the party though. The volley ball games went on. The kids kept coming late in the day. I think that they were having a bonfire after dark.
Some family members were missing. Sydney had planned a concert date a long time ago, their Aunt LA couldn't make it from DC, sister Xoie lives in N.Carolina now, and an Aunt Lynn's husband had just had surgery. It's so hard to plan graduation parties...so many things going on during the month of June and then July. There were a lot of people who did make it and it made for a very fun afternoon.
It was getting late and Joe and I had to head home. We live pretty far away and the sky looked so
threatening again. Tyler hugged me...a very wet hug and thanked us for coming. If my grand kids are reading this...Joe and I really appreciate your helping us unload and load the car with the chairs, getting a table for us to eat on , going back and forth with pop from the cooler and other things to save us steps. It just showed how you have been raised to treat older people with respect.
Love you,
Grandma and Grandpa

We had fun with you and Joe yesterday! Even though it rained - it was still a nice day! Thanks for coming and see you soon :)
Love, John
We had fun with you and Joe yesterday - sorry we didn't have a bouncy house for you and Bobbi to jump in :) Love you and see you soon!
Loved seeing all the nice pics but missed the ones with you and Joe! :)

It is the nicest thing in this world to have well behaved grandchildren!!! Guess that means their parents were raised correctly too, LOL.
I took a couple of pics of Joe. He had is eyes closed in each picture...as for me...I'm always the one with the camera, so I don't get in the pictures very often....only when someone else brings a camera.

To John,
If you had put up a bouncy house...you know that Bobbi and I would have been 1st in line to try it out. I have a picture of the two of us in one.. not so many years ago.
Wish I could have played volleyball...I would have been some fierce competition. :)
Love,
Mom
